Mbay, Hyde Midtown, Brickell Heights, and Panorama Tower Condos

In recent weeks, several new residential developments have been receiving attention. If they receive the necessary approvals from the city, these new projects suggest that demand for additional residential units in the Miami area has not slowed. Mbay, Hyde Midtown, Brickell Heights, and Panorama Tower Condos could be the latest additions to Miami's hot condo market. Together they represent approximately 2,080 new units. One of these projects, Tibor Hollo's Panorama Tower, has a unique history as it was reduced in height by the FAA from 849 to 830 feet in 2012. The following links for these projects will be updated as new information is received.

Miami Worldcenter: Alive and Growing

As other mega-projects like Brickell CityCentre begin to rise from the earth, little activity has been visible for Miami Worldcenter. Breaking the silence was news released by exMiami that a Miami Worldcenter affiliate had closed on the purchase of a property in Park West for $12 million. This property is located at 130 NE 10th ST and 127 NE 9th ST, next to Venture Hive. This purchase gives Miami Worldcenter control of that entire block.

All Aboard Florida: Construction by EOY

All Aboard Florida announced they secured a critical portion of the right of way and reached an agreement on the location for their central Florida terminal station.  With the easement purchase agreement, AAF can now contruct its rail infrastructure parallel to the SR 528 corridor, and should be able to begin construction activities before the end of year. The following press release was issued from All Aboard Florida this week:

All Aboard Florida, the highly-anticipated passenger rail project, moves forward with two significant agreements announced this week. Today, the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority (OOCEA) Board unanimously approved an easement purchase agreement with All Aboard Florida. This agreement allows All Aboard Florida to construct its rail infrastructure immediately parallel to the State Road 528 corridor. Coupled with the lease agreement approved by the Florida Department of Transportation in June 2013, All Aboard Florida has now secured the critical right of way needed for the project.

A-Rod buys $ 2.1M Condo at Mei

After much stress from his performance enhancing drug scandal, Yankee slugger Alex Rodriquez is apparently seeking a tranquil retreat, with his recent purchase at Mei.  Asian-inspired Mei features residences that are designed to allow residents to live in "harmony" and take part in "mind relaxation", according to brochures from the builder.  Jose Lambiet at Gossip Extra reported that Rodriguez purchased a 3 Bedroom, 1,725 square foot residence on the 11th floor of Mei Condominiums for $2.1M.
